Vegas Stratosphere Headliner Frankie Moreno's 2012 Release is Albums within Albums

Photo by John Knopf After seeing the Frankie Moreno Live show at the Stratosphere Thanksgiving Eve, I became a new fan of the man and the band. A writer, a thinker, a ridiculously intuitive entertainer, and someone that can give you the chills many times in one night from sheer talent, I buckled into the task of reviewing his first self-titled album. No pressure. The album is a completely different experience and feeling than seeing the band live. The album also totally captures the feeling of the band live. Let me explain.

Live DVD Taping for Frankie Moreno a Smash Success, Feb. 11, 2014 - Las Vegas Stratosphere

Director Peter Berkow and Frankie Moreno Celebrate Feb. 11, 2014 It was Tuesday February 11, 2014 in Las Vegas. The Showroom at the Stratosphere Hotel (the tallest structure in Las Vegas, Nevada) was the place to be that night, as a call had recently been put out to fans of Frankie Moreno, that he wanted them to show "dressed up and loud" for his upcoming live taping with his amazing high energy band. This is the band that plays Wed. through Sat. shows together. Brother Ricky Moreno gave stamps on hands as people mobbed the entrance and free show, on a non-show night, a Tuesday.

Frankie Moreno is 'Damn Sure Here to Stay' - Las Vegas Interview and Show Review

Tony Moreno, Frankie Moreno, photo credit: Mark Knopf This article was originally published in "The Best of Frankie Tease Magazine Vol.2" during 2013, via iTunes, Amazon, Nook. Frankie Moreno (35) is a Father, brother, and musical star who is becoming a household name in Vegas and around the world. His talent is on showcase four nights a week, one show a night, at the 300 seat remodeled showroom atop the Stratosphere Hotel. The showroom has a lot of booths and feels spacious. The 1148 ft. hotel (9th tallest free standing structure in U.S., tallest in Vegas) has just celebrated with Moreno the show's one year anniversary Nov. 19. The success of the show is a milestone and followed the release of his self-titled album Sept. 19. 2012 is proving to be a big one when you add his spectacular three minute appearance on Dancing with the Stars (ABC) Oct. 9th. Moreno garnered a whole new group of music fans when he performed his own song "Tanger

Photo Focus: Frankie Moreno Set List, Signed by the Moreno Brothers 11.22.12

November 22, 2012 Moreno Show Set List  On November 22, 2012 I got to interview Frankie Moreno and review his live show at the Stratosphere on the Vegas Strip. The Show has been named "best headliner" more than once and many other "bests" in its first year. Frankie Moreno told me the set list changes all the time. As you can see, most of their songs are originals, and I'll add really great stuff. I asked for a printed set list and I got it back signed by all the writers: Frankie Moreno, Ricky Moreno, and Tony Moreno. No, they're not a mob outfit, they are three brother song-writers creating beautiful melodic music and playing it in their show. Pretty nice work if you can get it. Read my full interview and show review in "Best of Frankie Tease Magazine Vol.2" eBook (click here for info).

After Hours Jam with Frankie Moreno - Live at Golden Nugget Las Vegas - Video and Photos

A late night jam session "like old times" with the boys was announced online via Twitter by Frankie and Tony Moreno on Friday March 8, 2013. Singer at Gold Rush Lounge at the Golden Nugget downtown Harry Shahoian introduced the Stratosphere star who sat at the piano in front of a beautiful vintage michrophone. He powered through a sexy rendition of "Stray Cat Strut", seguing into "Fever" to treat standard lovers in the crowd to some classics. Moreno and crew were set to take a break and go another round by 1am. Video and photos by Frankie Tease. Sexy, Sultry, Playmate Claire Sinclair is the Jewel of Pinup at Stratosphere Las Vegas

The long awaited Pinup Red Carpet event finally came. Two months into working it out the show buzz had been going strong about what type of late night Vegas show this was going to be. First, the show's star Claire Sinclair is perhaps the youngest on the Las Vegas Strip. Though Sinclair has been featured in a suggestive show (Crazy Horse Paris, MGM) this is the first time she's a resident star. With this, she has accomplished going from Print Media to carrying the weight of a Vegas show, all before reaching 22. Delightfully, Sinclair acts as the host of a retro romp through a virtual year of Calendar Girls using the maelstrom of talent in the six piece backing band featuring Trumpeter and Music Director David Perrico, as well as a spectacular singer Anne Martinez. The cast is filled out by four dancers, one lead male, six band members, one singer, and star Claire Sinclair. That's a "lucky 13" cast members. The show creators Drew DiCostanzo and Frankie Mor

Ten Things: A Countdown to Viva Las Vegas 16 Rockabilly Weekender Mar. 28-31 (2013)

Hula Girl at Viva Las Vegas  2012  by Cherry Club Inc I wanted to write a few must do must see notes to readers in preparation to this year's Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender event, which spills out into the city of Las Vegas from its host Orleans Hotel (at Tropicana and Arville near the Strip) each Easter Weekend for 15 years, (this is the 16th). Downtown Las Vegas is where old Vegas still lives, and if you leave the hotel (Orleans is South Strip area), Downtown should be at the top of your must see list. But, here is my Ten Things Countdown for VLV 16.  10- Ladies, get a Hawaiian Wrap.  They are easy to wear with or without strapped bra, and you can combine them with leggings or shorts or bathing suit. Here is something you can dress up or down. It's one of the things you'll never regret packing while attending any vintage themed event. I haven't. Guys, get a hat, any hat, straw recommended. 9- Start doing walking regimen to warm up for being i

Tidbits and Teasers: Pin Up Sinclair, Dice at Vinyl, Rev Horton Heat at LVCS

Pin Up Springs into Stratosphere The newest show addition to the Las Vegas strip is called Pin Up . The cast and crew are star studded, and so are the producers. Stratosphere Entertainment Director Matt Mascali says the new lighting for the show was delayed in shipping and has happily pushed the opening date from Feb. 25 to Mar. 2, 2013.  "We owe it to our performers to make sure every component matches the massive talent on stage" he stated. Who's involved in the creation of the show? Co-Producer and Best Strip Headliner Frankie Moreno, Trumpeter and the show's music composer Dave Perrico (six piece live backing band), choreographer Lacey Schwimmer of DWTS and SYTYCD. The show will also feature many singers and backing dancers who've been in rehearsal for months at the Stratosphere Showroom, where it will be housed. The show is said to be inspired by classic pin up calendars and stars Claire Sinclair who was Miss October 2010 in Playboy Magazine, a

Teaser Quotes from "The Best of Frankie Tease Magazine Vol. 1" - New eBook Vol.2 Update

Well hello readers. It's been a while since we've talked about the eBook series I launched this year. Lets take a second to chat about what you've missed if you haven't read the book yet, via some favorite interview quotes from Vol. 1: Lisa Lampanelli: When asked if people understand her comedy: "I have this thing: never complain, never explain." Dirty Martini   When asked about how she got into Burlesque: "From the time I was in college, I was working with some of these ideas. Even before college, my choreographic pieces and some of my solo and group work pieces were very Burlesque." Director Mark Mori of "Bettie Page Reveals All"  When asked what it was like for Bettie fans viewing his film:  " When I saw  their reaction, how emotional they were when  they saw the film and how connected - they felt  connected with Bettie before the film - but then  to actually basically come as close as you can  to meeting and e

Recap of Vegas AIDS / HIV Fundraiser - Help & Donate Now

27th Golden Rainbow Ribbon Of Life Cast at Smith  Center Vegas, Photo by Tom Donoghue Rather than try to cover already covered ground, I thought I would republlish the press recap of an important Southern Nevada charity helping men and women living with HIV AIDS. Golden Rainbow  celebrated 27 years of service to men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada at its 27th annual  “Ribbon of Life”  fundraiser at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday, June 30. “Ribbon of Life” raised more than $152,000 and drew in a crowd of 1,424 attendees. "Groovin' High Orchestra" at House of Blues Mandalay Bay Dec. 4, 2012

The Chandler Judkins Groovin' High Orchestra Well I've heard there was swing dancing in Vegas, but so far never found it.  Until now, I thought swing dancing in Vegas might be just a desert mirage. Alas, it is not so thanks to Swingin' Tuesdays at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. I wouldn't have known about it in my circles unless I had attended the Frankie Moreno Live show at the Stratosphere last week. In chatting with the Trumpet player, I found out there were regular nights in Vegas to dance and see Swing to, and one is coming up in December. You'll be in good hands with The "Groovin' High Orchestra". A free show with a Burlesque dancer, and continuous open dance floor to swing on. I have it on good authority that dancers show up too. Well, at least the trumpet player who I mentioned earlier says so. His name is Chandler Judkins .  Mandalay Bay is a large hotel and casino in Vegas located near the Luxor on Las Vegas Blvd. and Mandal

Tidbits and Teasers: Rock of Ages Dec. Open, Swingin' Holiday Cheer at Chandelier, Springs Reserve L.E.D. Festivities

Rock of Ages Dec. Open at the Venetian Hairbands are all the rage in this 80's extravaganza Broadway Show hitting the Strip which opens Dec. 18, 8pm at Rock of Ages Theater at Venetian. Live music accompaniment (yeah not recorded!) brings the Tony-award winning Broadway hit to Vegas. The show is described as a party, and what better place to party than the Vegas Strip? New Jazz Testament at Cosmopolitans Chandelier Bar Thurs. and Fri. Nov. 29-30, catch "New Jazz Testament" at the Cosmopolitan Chandelier Bar. A free-to-attend five-piece straight-ahead Jazz band that's described as a "very cool hang". Ironic description since they're playing the Chandelier Bar. You may recognize the trumpet player from the hit Vegas Strip show at the Stratosphere, as he plays the horn for Frankie Moreno Live four days a week. Holiday Show at Springs Reserve Take-in the city lights with friends and family with a per-car rate at the Springs Reserve. Bathed in

Burlesque History Comes in Sweets' Release

A Debut Album Event Review of Melody Sweets  "Burlesque in the Black" The highly anticipated debut album show was built up with adverts in Las Vegas over several weeks and each major paper in town had done their preview. The star had just released her debut album of originals after well over a year of success as the headliner in what has been voted "Best Show" many times over. The show is a turn-of-the century tribute with live singing and strip tease by Sweets, and world-class acrobatics at-close-range, combined with wild and inappropriate humor by Host the Gazillionaire and Side-kick Sock Puppet Queen Penny Pibbets. Flesh and skill are what holds the show together as well as more up-close views of  aerials than any Cirque show ever offered. The unabashed sexiness that Sweets exudes for Absinthe is obviously the natural resting place for the artist in her own original music. The release party and show began with a video intro where co-star
