Beloved Burlesque Legend and Legacy Dixie Evans Deceased at 86

Intro: A Burlesque Legend Passes Dixie Evans has passed away August 3, 2013 in Las Vegas, NV, born Long Beach, CA, August 28, 1926. The Marilyn Monroe of Burlesque , long-time American strip-tease artist, showgirl, performer, organizer, legend and icon did many things that inspired many people. In fact, a group had planned Dixie Evans Week to be held later this month as a fundraiser for her medical needs. Shows would - and still will - take place all over the nation, and world, to fundraise for Dixie Evans. Before that effort could meet her medical needs post-stroke in a Las Vegas facility, she passed-away. Cha Cha Velour, Legends, and Las Vegas Burlesque Classes

Photo by Radiant Inc. of Cha Cha Velour If you were driving on the Las Vegas Strip Northbound toward the Stratosphere (before Sahara), you would turn right on Karen Avenue, park at 900 Karen Ave. and enter the middle of the "New Orleans Square" to locate Suite C-209. It is not street-side, it's inside. A warm night in September led me to do just that, and I found myself at the front door of the Studio where Cha Cha Velour - the burlesque dance studio owner - was holding an open house. Sure, I first had to drive through a run-down area several blocks east to get there, but if you've spent anytime in Vegas, you know that's not unusual (especially since 2008). Upstairs following the signs (elevator available) I found a glass-front studio with a "Las Vegas Burlesque Classes" Sign on it. Las Vegas Burlesque Hall of Fame Deals with Hwy.15 Widening and Eminent Domain

June 2, 2012, by Cory of Blue Hair Media The Burlesque Hall of Fame just wrapped up its 22nd edition of the Weekend Festivities in June, only to be informed soon thereafter that their storage facility is smack dab in the middle of a Hwy.15 expansion here in Las Vegas, Nevada. The deadline ends August 31, 2012. A heated campaign fundraising is under-way at Indigogo  to help accommodate the rarities that are housed in storage, and to take the opportunity to move to a more expansive space. A mission statement on the BHOF website (BurlesqueHall.com) states clearly what the Non-Profit organization -of which the museum is only a part- is all about. "The Burlesque Hall of Fame is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to inspire, educate and entertain the public, fostering an appreciation for and understanding of the unique history and heritage of vintage American Burlesque–including but not limited to the art, a
