Vegas' Zombie Burlesque Holds Its Own and Some Other's Too

Fez-Hatted Host Sings at Zombie Burlesque Las Vegas March 2014 By the time I was contacted by a representative of the new "Zombie Burlesque" show in Las Vegas to do a review, I was already curious. Having tracked its opening inside the conglomerate of theaters at Planet Hollywood owned by David Saxe Productions, the V Theater, I had read in the Las Vegas Sun that the show name was conceived via an impromptu napkin poll by Saxe on an airplane flight. David Saxe has a history in Las Vegas,as the son of a traditional Las Vegas Showgirl. His mother wore the 30 pound head dresses and performed in revues.

Long Beach Walk Through Video - April 2014 - By the Sea

Long Beach Pike April 2014 by Frankie Tease I'm back in touch with my hometown Long Beach, CA. During my recent trip there, I took some photos and video of what's going on during Saturday 4/5 and 6. There was a lot of preparation in progress for the Grand Prix next week, the Congressional Cup was there on the beach front, people were madly wake-boarding or windsurfing (I do not know the difference), and the sun was out accompanied by the famous ocean breeze. Hopefully this will tell some of the show goers to Ink N Iron what the town is like before their arrival for the June car show and music festival at the Queen Mary. The Queen is pictured in the video too.

The Linq photo by Frankie Tease The Linq is brand new on the Las Vegas Strip The Las Vegas skyline has a new addition. An observation wheel built by Caesers Entertainment located where the old O'Shea's Casino was, next to Flamingo. The Linq includes shopping, gaming, dining, and drinking at the new O'Shea's pub. It also boasts the observation wheel (not ferris wheel) on site, which is able to hold almost 20 people per cart up in the desert skies. The 550 ft. high roller is the world's largest observation wheel (50 feet over the Eye in London). People are directed to call -800-Caesars for more details. You may also visit thelinq.com .

Fast Fun Times with The Frank's & Deans - Las Vegas - A Review

The Franks & Deans - Las Vegas,NV Mar. 2014 As I walked into the Pandora Lounge in Las Vegas, I saw a mild-mannered mix of audience loungers distributed throughout the place while the band was on break. Some were playing Wii bowling, while waiting for their second of three sets from local talents the "Franks & Deans". An homage to earlier lounge greats, the band calls themselves the "Punk Rock Rat Pack", and rightly so. The band are made up of Rob DeTie (bass, singer, band leader), PIP (drums), Tyler Newton (rhythm guitar) and eldest member still in his early 30's and married, Hoss (guitar, vocals) (Hard Rock Las Vegas, Reverend Horton Heat crew) .

If You Like Funny, Whitney Streed is Peddling That in Portland and Beyond - A Written Interview

Whitney Streed by Rebel Rogue Media - Sammy Rivera I first worked with Whitney Streed in Portland, Oregon during 2009-11. A degree holding almost 30-something transplant from Colorado Springs, CO., Streed weaves puns in and out of self-deprecating gender confusion jokes. Her ability to room-read is fairly unparalleled and she's amassed a sizable list of comedian friends for any booking occasion. She's also played family and conservative rooms in the regions, including Applebee's , where she got a check to tell jokes while people ate. The mental games and exercises in writing are something she's been doing for five years plus, but she first had a career in editing text books before moving to Oregon in the 2000's. Now doing adult care to make it all work, Streed hosts her own comedy night, travels out of region, and has credits on Portlandia , U.S. Comedy Festivals, and her set time is growing stronger and longer. A comedian's comedian, a writer and f

Live DVD Taping for Frankie Moreno a Smash Success, Feb. 11, 2014 - Las Vegas Stratosphere

Director Peter Berkow and Frankie Moreno Celebrate Feb. 11, 2014 It was Tuesday February 11, 2014 in Las Vegas. The Showroom at the Stratosphere Hotel (the tallest structure in Las Vegas, Nevada) was the place to be that night, as a call had recently been put out to fans of Frankie Moreno, that he wanted them to show "dressed up and loud" for his upcoming live taping with his amazing high energy band. This is the band that plays Wed. through Sat. shows together. Brother Ricky Moreno gave stamps on hands as people mobbed the entrance and free show, on a non-show night, a Tuesday.

Vintage Vegas Variety Show Coverage of Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender 15 [Video]

Viva Las Vegas Car by Cherry Club Inc., 2012. As we lead up to Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender 17, 2014 the largest Rockabilly Weekender Party in the world on Easter Weekend in Las Vegas, I wanted to show my audience a lovely bit of coverage with a sweeping overview, and also some up-close brief interviews with artists who appeared at Viva 15. The interviewer? None other than Vegas' own Smokin' Jazz Vocalist and Band Front-Woman Jeanne Brei ( pr: brigh ) of the "Speakeasy Swingers" star-studded multi-piece band.

Ten Things: A Countdown to Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend 17, 2014

Before the Vintage Bathing Suit Contest at  Viva Las Vegas  2013 by Frankie Tease Last year I wrote down a few must-do must-see notes in preparation of the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender event, held in Vegas at Orleans Hotel each Easter Weekend for 16 years, (this is the 17th). This year I am keeping up the tradition in a second edition of the column.  Right now (2.7.14) the Orleans and sister property Gold Coast rooms are completely sold out.  Neighboring Palms or Rio may still have rooms, and I bet you can still get a room at the Tropicana who has a great pool and provides a straight shot down Tropicana to the Orleans where Viva is being held. Whether you come for Thursday through Sunday or just Saturday, here are things I believe are important to you my vintage set and regular folks in ole Vegas.

Oregon's Ellie Darling Places in Fitness Contest and Continues Burlesque Show Productions

Ellie Darling by  Through the Looking Glass Photography Ellie Darling has had a place in Portland and Oregon burlesque for a long time. She's a native of the area, and has consistently for over four years mixed fashion, pin-up, live music, and burlesque at her shows which are usually mid-century focused. I've been to them and covered them back in 2010/11 in Portland Oregon before I moved to Vegas. I always liked her format. She even brought in stars such as Masuimi Max to Dante's.

New York's Jo Weldon is a Strip Tease Expert and Vegas Burlesque Component - An In-Depth Interview

Jo Weldon photo by Scott Shuster This article was originally published in  Best of Frankie Tease Magazine Vol.2 , July 2013 My first chance to interview Jo Weldon was long awaited. When she announced a January trip to Vegas 2013, I knew I better pounce. Jo Weldon is busy. With a career spanning almost a couple decades in the art of strip tease and burlesque, Weldon has garnered peer respect, audience respect, and industry respect for what she does. She's been involved in the Burlesque Hall of Fame here in Vegas for many years, which is where I first met her in 2012. I remember thinking how down-to-earth she was, which was a pleasant surprise. Weldon is the first to ever write a book about how to do strip tease and burlesque called "The Burlesque Handbook". It was published in 2010 and covers everything from backstage etiquette, to crafting your own pasties. She was just voted number two on the annual "Top 50" in Burlesque at 21st Ce
