Jo Weldon photo by Scott Shuster This article was originally published in  Best of Frankie Tease Magazine Vol.2 , July 2013 My first chance to interview Jo Weldon was long awaited. When she announced a January trip to Vegas 2013, I knew I better pounce. Jo Weldon is busy. With a career spanning almost a couple decades in the art of strip tease and burlesque, Weldon has garnered peer respect, audience respect, and industry respect for what she does. She's been involved in the Burlesque Hall of Fame here in Vegas for many years, which is where I first met her in 2012. I remember thinking how down-to-earth she was, which was a pleasant surprise. Tempest Sotrm "Burlesque Queen" On Kickstarter thru Oct. 9 A new film documentary by Director Nimisha Nukerji is due to be released in 2014 about 84 year old burlesque star and Life-long Stripper Tempest Storm . Recognized by Oprah Winfrey for her documentary "65_RedRoses" Director Nimisha Nukerji has a knack for telling stories and has brought those skills to one of America's favorite characters and sex symbols. Tempest Storm shares the camera with Dita Von Teese (Strip Strip Hooray), Melody Sweets (Absinthe), and Lou Lou D'Vil (2013 Queen

Photo courtesy of Dirty Martini After taking in all of the splendor of Strip Strip Hooray! (House of Blues 5/19/12, Las Vegas) I caught up with one of my all-time favorite performers of Neo- Burlesque, the one and only Dirty Martini. Read on to find out what this world-renowned innovative Burlesque Performer had to say about Las Vegas, Rome, New York City, and where to catch her on film. FT: It's such a pleasure to meet you for the second time and interview you. I had the lucky chance to interview Melody Sweets, Absinthe Star, last week and she spoke so highly of you. How far do you two go back? DM: I met Melody Sweets in Bombshell Burlesque years ago in New York City when she was still called Scrappy, which she is - in the most awesome way. It was so funny because I went away to Europe, and when I came back everyone was saying "Melody Sweets, Melody Sweets" and I'm like, who is this Melody Sweets that's totally movin' and shakin' around
