Tidbits and Teasers, Winter in Venice, Neon Museum, Vinyl at Vegas Hard Rock

This article was originally published July of 2013 in  "The Best of Frankie Tease Magazine Vol.2" "Winter in Venice" at Venetian spares no expense with elaborate  costumes, strolling carolers, nightly skate rink performances,  concerts, and VIP appearances. It's winter in the desert. Winter in Venice at the Venetian  (Las Vegas) For the third year, the Venetian Hotel will transform itself into "Winter in Venice". The Italian-themed hotel has an L.E.D. tree spectacular, a nightly parade with the White Winter Queen, and her royal court, and a polymer skate rink (fitting for the desert). Beautiful winter white is dominant, as will be roving holiday carolers throughout the front free nightly show and the entire hotel property. Mmmm, hot chocolate anyone? Neon Museum Gets New Digs The Neon Museum, though established in 1996, has been growing steadily in its procurement of signs and acreage. It's newer location includes the lobby

Tempest Storm shares the camera with Dita Von Teese (Strip Strip Hooray), Melody Sweets (Absinthe), and Lou Lou D'Vil (2013 Queen

The LVFF Screened "Raze" the Movie with Zoe Bell, July 20, 2013 - Tidbits and Teasers

Actor Zoe Bell pictured on Raze film poster. The Sixth Annual Las Vegas Film Festival was held at the LVH (Las Vegas Hotel) last weekend from July 18-21, 2013. The LVFF included film screenings, an award ceremony, panel discussions, mixers, and after parties, among many other events. The star-studded red carpet was busy all weekend. One such celebrity that our magazine has interviewed at length is Tonya Kay. Kay was in town from L.A. on Saturday for the 6pm showing of Raze by Director Josh C. Waller. The female heavy film includes A-List stunt woman who are trapped in a bunker after being kidnapped. Tonya Kay (Alex) is featured fighting in a hand-to-hand combat scene to the death with stellar stunt woman Zoe Bell (Sabrina). Bell is a favorite of Quentin Tarantino, a New Zealander, and a revered female stunt woman. I'm sad to not have seen the screening, but look forward to other chances. The premise of the story isn't too new, but the fact that's it's all women f

Tidbits and Teasers: Ent.Tax Kicked to Curb, New Film Incentive Passed, EDC Invades Vegas

Walking the Strip by Frankie Tease Entertainment Tax Bill Shot Down There are many who've been following the recent proposed entertainment bill that would add a tax of between 8-10% for all Nevadans in the industry. Kirkpatrick re-wrote and presented the bill, and it still got shot down. There are small and huge festivals sighing a huge breath of relief including the annual Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) and the National Bullriding Convention (NBR) to name a couple of ginormous ones. Something tells me that won't be heard about anytime soon, and to think they even were considering taxing gyms as entertainment. Film Incentive Tax Score Nevada went a step in the direction of entering the modern world this month when Senator Aaron D. Ford (District 11) successfully got a bill giving anyone who films in Nevada a financial incentive. Find out about the details and how it can create new jobs on this video by the Senator himself.  http://youtu.be/AcBMYy0vOuw . Nevada w

Pure is located inside Ceaser's Palace on the Vegas Strip. Minaj has made a name for herself in entertainment for bold brazen and sexy music. The evening is priced at $110 according to contactmusic.com , which states that Minaj will throw a "boistrous party with showgoers, and ring in the New Year". Sounds like a great time to me. Fremont Street Experience Rings in New Year with Live Music The Fremont Street Experience is everyone's favorite place to rock out, and this New Year celebration is no exception. Live entertainment begins on three stages starting at 6pm. Bands playing under the largest L.E.D. light canopy in the world include: Zowie Bowie, Quiet Riot (c'mon Feel the noise!), Queensryche, Jizzy Pearl, and Arena, to name a few. Rock of Ages Dec. Open at the Venetian Hairbands are all the rage in this 80's extravaganza Broadway Show hitting the Strip which opens Dec. 18, 8pm at Rock of Ages Theater at Venetian. A free-to-attend five-piece straight-ahead Jazz band that's described as a "very cool hang". Ironic description since they're playing the Chandelier Bar. Tidbits and Teasers: Faux Ice Rink at The Venetian, The Cosmo Gets Iced, Hangover III on Fremont St.

The Venetian's Faux Ice Rink is Back The second year of Winter in Venice is getting under way this week at the Venetian. Enjoy ice skating, gondola rides, and live outdoor and indoor free events as well as glowing L.E.D spectacularness during the most wonderful time of the year. What's unique is that the skate rink atop the water in front of the Italian-themed resort is actually recycled polymer (no ice was created in the making of this rink). The rubber-like surface is treated with oil to remain slick for skating. I saw the rehearsal for the skate shows which will be offered free twice per night Nov. 18 - Jan. 6, 2012. Skate rentals will be available for willing participants. Real Ice Skating Rink at the Cosmopolitan Looks like the Cosmopolitan is getting in on the skate rink action this year, only with real ice in place of their Boulevard Pool . The Cosmo starts their festivities Nov. 30 post Thanksgiving Day, through Jan. 20, well past the New Year. Children over a

Tidbits and Teasers: Evlis Has Left the Building, Legends Leaves Harrah's, Taylor Exits Zowie Bowie

Elvis Has Left the Building That's right folks, "Viva Elvis" the flop of Cirque De Soleil has left the building. Did anyone notice? Probably not as the glitz and glam of the new spectacular $22 Billion budget show "Zarkana" has taken it's place at Aria. Viva Elvis' last performance ran Aug. 31, while Zarkana openened at Aria last weekend. I guess flying Elvis's isn't what audiences were after. Looks like it's good that Cirque is sticking with what it knows best: fantasy-world acrobats and circus. Legends Leaves Harrah's The "Legends" show enjoyed a record-breaking four years at Harrah's and has announced this will be the end of its run. Though the Legends show is a franchise that may show up elsewhere the last date played at Harrah's for the show will be Dec. 30, 2012. Catch impersonators of everyone who's anyone on the Legends stage, with live-music and vivacious singer-impersonators. From Nov. 23 you will s
