New Vegas Comedy Show at LVH "Comedy After Dark" Stays Strong in Third Month with Host Anthony Padilla

photo courtesy of lasvegas-nv.com What's it take for a local professional comedian to get a gig in the town of Las Vegas? It takes talent and hard work. Spending over a year opening for Louie Anderson at his own club, this stand-up gent finally has his own gig. Anthony Padilla headlines the new show (a few months old) called Comedy After Dark  Thursday through Sunday at the Shimmer Lounge at LVH , just off-strip. Now he gets to make fun of the times he spent with Louie Anderson, and to bring his compadres and travelling mega-comedians from all over the country. Though he introduces other guests this doesn't diminish the talent he brings including his famous biting wit and story-telling. Padilla has previously appeared on The CW Network, A&E, The History Channel, and Lifetime to name a few. Now, he has his own headliner show and also does a radio show weekly with Scott Prichard on Vegas Video Network (a show about sports betting). Padilla knows a thing or two abo

Norm McDonald Back at Standing-Up, Appearing at Orleans Hotel, Las Vegas, Aug. 10,11, 2012

Many of us recognize the name Norm Macdonald from the 80's and 90's when he had a long run as a comedic actor on Saturday Night Live. His stint as anchor of the hilarious 'weekend update' recurring act on SNL, came after he was one of the comedy writers on the NBC show.  A couple decades have given way to a generation of people who love the odd-styled Canadian. His wit is dry and absurd at the same time, his timing impeccable after years of working with TV and comedy greats like Roseanne Barr, Dennis Leary, Artie Lange, Will Farrell, and the Producer of SNL: Loren Michaels, to name a few. Some of the impressions that may have stuck with audiences most include Bob Dole (hilarious) and Burt Reynolds (classic stuff!). Macdonald is currently the star of the "Sports Show with Norm Macdonald" on Comedy Central, where he dissects topical sports news, funnily. Catch his 2012 tour with two nights at the beautiful Orleans Showroom only. I'm sure this sh

Daniel Tosh brings his comedy to Las Vegas through 4/27-28/12

photo courtesy of Calnevari.com Daniel Tosh got mean and got famous. Whatever works. Since the success of Daniel Tosh 2.0 (weekly TV show)  on Comedy Central, Tosh has remained popular and busy. Tosh uses biting observational humor to let you know his distinct opinions in no uncertain terms, and seems to focus on topical news. Luckily there are comedians like Daniel Tosh who are appealing to an adult audience - as the popularity of 'politically correct' humor dominates most stage and airwaves in the U.S. You can expect edgy, it's his middle name (sorry Dane Cook) . Tosh  is great at making fun of people and getting them to enjoy it, making it hip to look stupid and be the brunt of his jokes. Oh Tosh , you aren't creating any future Einsteins but you are making the nation laugh.  Tosh's popularity has come through time and gaining devoted audiences slowly. He has almost a decade working with Comedy Central, and has two videos and an audio recording for sale.

Jay Leno - Aces of Comedy Headliner throughout 2012 - Vegas

Jay Leno has had a long lucrative career and a long happy marriage. Those are two things you don't see in Hollywood very often, especially paired. Jay's self deprecating 'chin' humor along with his quirky voice, dyslexia, and lisp cemented his style of humor on stage first along side the likes of Freddy Prinz Jr. His comedy in the 70's before his late night hosting duties began, consisted of east coast west coast jokes, and clean but suggestive observational humor. He has always been known for thinking well on his feet and making whoever is in front of him the punch-line of the current joke or bit. He can lay into the audience like the best of them, and is a frequent practitioner of roasts like on his five day per week TV show 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno' where the opening monologue is no less than a roast of whoever is topping news charts that day.  Selected weekend dates through March-October of 2012 Leno will be appearing in Vegas and present
