Legendary Rock Entertainers: ZZ Top play Vegas Dec. 5 and Dec. 7, you can see the enduring rockin' blues band who made "Cheap Sunglasses" and a "Sharp Dressed Man" famous at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. Celebrating the House of Blues 20th anniversary couldn't be more festive with the humorous and deeply blues rooted guitar driven trio. Forming first in 1969, they have stood the test of time with their never-changing line-up. If it aint broke don't fix it. They even have a 2012 album release entitled "Futura". "Groovin' High Orchestra" at House of Blues Mandalay Bay Dec. 4, 2012

The Chandler Judkins Groovin' High Orchestra Well I've heard there was swing dancing in Vegas, but so far never found it.  Until now, I thought swing dancing in Vegas might be just a desert mirage. Alas, it is not so thanks to Swingin' Tuesdays at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay. I wouldn't have known about it in my circles unless I had attended the Frankie Moreno Live show at the Stratosphere last week. In chatting with the Trumpet player, I found out there were regular nights in Vegas to dance and see Swing to, and one is coming up in December. You'll be in good hands with The "Groovin' High Orchestra". A free show with a Burlesque dancer, and continuous open dance floor to swing on. I have it on good authority that dancers show up too. Well, at least the trumpet player who I mentioned earlier says so. His name is Chandler Judkins .  Mandalay Bay is a large hotel and casino in Vegas located near the Luxor on Las Vegas Blvd. and Mandal

Skyvue Observation Wheel to Join Vegas Skyline by 2013

Skyvue Observation Wheel to  Join Vegas Skyline  New Year of 2013 A Preview There is a new addition to the Las Vegas skyline making its way to completion very soon. The massive 40 car observation wheel and event center will sit at the South Vegas Strip end, at the intersection of Mandalay Bay Drive and Las Vegas Blvd. The groundbreaking ceremonies were held May 23, 2011, with a promise to see the wheel come to fruition in 18 months. The new structure will be on the East side of the  Las Vegas Strip, the same side as McCarran International Airport. In fact, the wheel may well be the first thing you see flying into Vegas now, perhaps in competition with its neighboring light beam into space coming from the Luxor. Other neighbors to Skyvue include Mandalay Bay, The Little Church of the West, The Las Vegas Sign, and the Luxor who can't be complaining about new business the big wheel in the sky will attract.  Taller than Mandalay Bay (that's tall!), the hanging G

A Dirty Martini Isn't Just a Cocktail - She's the Most Recognized Name in New Burlesque -

Photo courtesy of Dirty Martini After taking in all of the splendor of Strip Strip Hooray! (House of Blues 5/19/12, Las Vegas) I caught up with one of my all-time favorite performers of Neo- Burlesque, the one and only Dirty Martini. Read on to find out what this world-renowned innovative Burlesque Performer had to say about Las Vegas, Rome, New York City, and where to catch her on film. FT: It's such a pleasure to meet you for the second time and interview you. I had the lucky chance to interview Melody Sweets, Absinthe Star, last week and she spoke so highly of you. How far do you two go back? DM: I met Melody Sweets in Bombshell Burlesque years ago in New York City when she was still called Scrappy, which she is - in the most awesome way. It was so funny because I went away to Europe, and when I came back everyone was saying "Melody Sweets, Melody Sweets" and I'm like, who is this Melody Sweets that's totally movin' and shakin' around
