Photo Focus: Frankie Moreno Set List, Signed by the Moreno Brothers 11.22.12

November 22, 2012 Moreno Show Set List  On November 22, 2012 I got to interview Frankie Moreno and review his live show at the Stratosphere on the Vegas Strip. The Show has been named "best headliner" more than once and many other "bests" in its first year. Frankie Moreno told me the set list changes all the time. As you can see, most of their songs are originals, and I'll add really great stuff. I asked for a printed set list and I got it back signed by all the writers: Frankie Moreno, Ricky Moreno, and Tony Moreno. No, they're not a mob outfit, they are three brother song-writers creating beautiful melodic music and playing it in their show. Pretty nice work if you can get it. Read my full interview and show review in "Best of Frankie Tease Magazine Vol.2" eBook (click here for info).

Teaser Quotes from "The Best of Frankie Tease Magazine Vol. 1" - New eBook Vol.2 Update

Well hello readers. It's been a while since we've talked about the eBook series I launched this year. Lets take a second to chat about what you've missed if you haven't read the book yet, via some favorite interview quotes from Vol. 1: Lisa Lampanelli: When asked if people understand her comedy: "I have this thing: never complain, never explain." Dirty Martini   When asked about how she got into Burlesque: "From the time I was in college, I was working with some of these ideas. Even before college, my choreographic pieces and some of my solo and group work pieces were very Burlesque." Director Mark Mori of "Bettie Page Reveals All"  When asked what it was like for Bettie fans viewing his film:  " When I saw  their reaction, how emotional they were when  they saw the film and how connected - they felt  connected with Bettie before the film - but then  to actually basically come as close as you can  to meeting and e

Tidbits and Teasers: Guns N Roses: Paradise City, Cirque Opens Zarkana at Aria, Aviation Nation Air Show

Guns 'N Roses at Hard Rock G and R kicked off its "Appetite For Democracy," stent at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel and Casino amid controversy Saturday. Last week in honor of the bands' residency during Nov., City Commissioner Beth Scow named Paradise Road "Paradise City" Road. She bit off more than she could chew when discovering the explicit scene on the poster was not exactly complimentary to women or Sin City. A revised graphic from their Appetite for Destruction album, the scene showed a woman just sexually assaulted, panties around her calves, and robots nearby all under the famous Las Vegas sign. G 'N R play through end of November. It's just art, right? (Breaking News: G N R controversial poster removed ( via  http://loudwire.com/controversial-las-vegas-guns-n-roses-posters-removed/ ). Cirque De Soleil's Zarkana finds home at Aria A visually stunning acrobatic spectacular, the massive set and expensive cast of Zarkana are now

Skyvue Observation Wheel to Join Vegas Skyline by 2013

Skyvue Observation Wheel to  Join Vegas Skyline  New Year of 2013 A Preview There is a new addition to the Las Vegas skyline making its way to completion very soon. The massive 40 car observation wheel and event center will sit at the South Vegas Strip end, at the intersection of Mandalay Bay Drive and Las Vegas Blvd. The groundbreaking ceremonies were held May 23, 2011, with a promise to see the wheel come to fruition in 18 months. The new structure will be on the East side of the  Las Vegas Strip, the same side as McCarran International Airport. In fact, the wheel may well be the first thing you see flying into Vegas now, perhaps in competition with its neighboring light beam into space coming from the Luxor. Other neighbors to Skyvue include Mandalay Bay, The Little Church of the West, The Las Vegas Sign, and the Luxor who can't be complaining about new business the big wheel in the sky will attract.  Taller than Mandalay Bay (that's tall!), the hanging G

Las Vegas Neon Museum & Boneyard [photos] Officially Opens to Public Oct. 27, 2012

There is a small niche of Las Vegas Blvd. which visitors may not have heard about. It's called the Historic Cultural Corridor. It runs along Las Vegas Blvd. N, between Bonanza and Washington. Funny, because that's the part of the map I carved out to find out where the Neon Museum is located on my exploratory photo visit (though it's currently closed to visitors until Oct. 27). I ended up letting the GPS do the work. You can also just follow Las Vegas Blvd. heading north, and use signs to Cashman Center, or the Natural History Museum. You will see the large iconic sign boasting the new remodeled venue. The Neon Museum is in good company and belongs to a coalition dedicated to promoting and restoring this historic area of Las Vegas [ http://www.culturalcorridorvegas.org/  ]. The Neon Museum, though established in 1996, has been growing steadily in its procurement of signs and acreage. It's newer location includes the lobby building of the famous Las Vegas La Conc

Las Vegas Labor Day Pool Getaways Stand Test of Time

Swim with Sharks or Enjoy a Roof-top Pool at Golden Nugget's H20 The Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino Pool is located in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas and is called H20. It is one of the top ten pools in the world on several lists, and its design with three levels and two pools leaves little to be desired. Level one allows you to swim with sharks in the shallow end (they're behind glass) or climb to the third deck to slide through the shark tank in a tube. While on the third floor, pay a little more to enter the adult pool area, no kids allowed. This luxurious rooftop pool area has day beds, cabanas, a bar, and very unique see-through wading pool for those relaxing, drinking and partying. Gaze out at the Downtown Las Vegas skyline as you get served a medley of food and adult beverages. Back at the floor-level pool, Card Dealer Steve will stack up the cards on the outskirts of the pool area, to serve your gambling needs while poolside. Lifeguards

Norm McDonald Back at Standing-Up, Appearing at Orleans Hotel, Las Vegas, Aug. 10,11, 2012

Many of us recognize the name Norm Macdonald from the 80's and 90's when he had a long run as a comedic actor on Saturday Night Live. His stint as anchor of the hilarious 'weekend update' recurring act on SNL, came after he was one of the comedy writers on the NBC show.  A couple decades have given way to a generation of people who love the odd-styled Canadian. His wit is dry and absurd at the same time, his timing impeccable after years of working with TV and comedy greats like Roseanne Barr, Dennis Leary, Artie Lange, Will Farrell, and the Producer of SNL: Loren Michaels, to name a few. Some of the impressions that may have stuck with audiences most include Bob Dole (hilarious) and Burt Reynolds (classic stuff!). Macdonald is currently the star of the "Sports Show with Norm Macdonald" on Comedy Central, where he dissects topical sports news, funnily. Catch his 2012 tour with two nights at the beautiful Orleans Showroom only. I'm sure this sh

Interview Bites with Frankie Tease - Burelsque Hall of Fame 2012- Bastard Keith, Banbury Cross

BASTARD KEITH (NY) Sunday June 3, 2012 I was able to drag Bastard Keith away from his wife for just a minute and we stood outside Big Al's Lounge at the Orleans post events Sunday night. This is what a skilled host and MC had to tell us about introducing all those renowned stars. FT: Is this your first time hosting the BHOF  (LasVegas) .  BK: Yes it was. It was amazing, It was an honor. It was so much fun. It was oddly relaxing because it was like being in a living room with a bunch of friends. A very dirty, naked living room, with very dirty naked friends. FT: What were some of your highlights? BK: One of the highlights was actually making it on stage. I've been kind of in recovery from a little bit of illness and exhaustion. So, just the fact that I was able to get up there and not pass out was great. After the song I almost passed out, I started seeing light. Talking about highlights is almost impossible with this show, because it was such a sustained crescendo

Interview Bites with Frankie Tease the Burlesque Hall of Fame 2012 - Hank, Dr. Shocker, Red Hot Annie, The Shanghai Pearl

- by Frankie Tease  - On Saturday, I was roaming the festival before the Tournament of Tease at the Burlesque Hall of Fame. I caught a few interesting interviews ranging from Organziers, to staff, to Performers. Here is what they had to say about who they are and why they love the yearly event. HANK THE BARTENDER (NV) Saturday June 2, 2012  I'm talking with Hank the Bartender (HBT) at the Orleans. He's a show-biz son, and here is his story. He's no stranger to Burlesque or stage. FT: So tell us about your showbiz parents. HBT: My mother and father moved here in 1948, and toured with the Follies Berger . They were original cast members that opened the show here in Las Vegas at the Tropicana. I'm a showbiz son, I have two left feet. That's why I worked in theater backstage. I hung lights, did audio and stagework. FT: You were a workin' stiff. HBT: Yes I was. My father called me a few weeks ago and said "Are you still doing that crap (ba

A Dirty Martini Isn't Just a Cocktail - She's the Most Recognized Name in New Burlesque -

Photo courtesy of Dirty Martini After taking in all of the splendor of Strip Strip Hooray! (House of Blues 5/19/12, Las Vegas) I caught up with one of my all-time favorite performers of Neo- Burlesque, the one and only Dirty Martini. Read on to find out what this world-renowned innovative Burlesque Performer had to say about Las Vegas, Rome, New York City, and where to catch her on film. FT: It's such a pleasure to meet you for the second time and interview you. I had the lucky chance to interview Melody Sweets, Absinthe Star, last week and she spoke so highly of you. How far do you two go back? DM: I met Melody Sweets in Bombshell Burlesque years ago in New York City when she was still called Scrappy, which she is - in the most awesome way. It was so funny because I went away to Europe, and when I came back everyone was saying "Melody Sweets, Melody Sweets" and I'm like, who is this Melody Sweets that's totally movin' and shakin' around

Dita Von Teese brings 'Strip Strip Hooray' to Vegas in May

One thing often said about Dita Von Teese , is that she spawned the modern Burlesque movement. Whether you agree or not, Dita Von Teese has dominated Burlesque and high-fashion for almost a decade, with styles from the Turn of the Century, to the 1950's. Her milky white skin and waify yet curvy figure, are dreamy for fashion designers to work with, and easy on the eyes. The show known as Strip Strip Hooray began in 2010 with a few select engagements leaving fans drooling for more. Luckily more they shall get. The 2012 tour is set to begin May in Los Angeles, and continue to San Diego, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, and Orange County.  Audiences will be delighted to see more of the fantastic two legged Burlesque Ballerina who learned her Martini glass moves from original showgirl "Catherine D'lish", one of the world's leading exotic female performers, and a gorgeous red-head, who will be among the show's stars. Other lucious tour

Viva Las Vegas 15 Rockabilly Weekend - The Guitar is still the Star- by Frankie Tease

Photo by Frankie Tease 2012 Band after band came on stage throughout the four-day Rockabilly Weekend held annually at the Orleans Hotel & Casino each Easter Weekend. Clearly though, it was the guitar drivin' the ride. There were eight stages in all and shows within shows continuously. Volumes of bands paid tribute to the great inventors of Rock N' Roll of the 1950's decade. If the solid tribute wasn't enough, actual guitar and Rock N' Roll legends also graced the stage in large numbers. Duane Eddy and The Ventures (ie: Nokie Edwards, Don Wilson, Gerry McGee) were among the most anticipated acts at Viva Las Vegas 15. Hundreds of acts were on inside stages day and night for four-day-pass holders who bought ahead, and the one day Car Show and concert was open to day-of purchase and was well attended.  Cars, vendors, and music began in front of a huge area at the Orleans Arena at 9am and went well after 8pm. The weather was absolutely perfect for the Saturd
