Old and New Vegas Vibe, Unscripted, Uncensored - Sapphire Comedy Hour Has it All

Video of Mon Dre performing at  Sapphire Comedy Hour by Frankie Tease. I finally found a show as raunchy and classy as I like it, and it's at the world's largest strip club, Sapphire Las Vegas. The club is well-known in town, for topless entertainment and great bottle and V.I.P. service. It also just opened a topless (pastied) pool and dayclub which is very fun. But even more new, they have been rolling out a show in the state-of-the art (wicked comfortable) Sapphire Showroom a few feet from the main entrance. I attended the Media Night for Sapphire Comedy Hour , hosted by the Producer/Director of the show Brett Feinstein (son of the owner). Feinstein's associates are Decade-Long Las Vegan, Douglas “Lefty” Leferovich    who is creative director, magic consultant, and featured entertainer, while Philip Peredo, head of Tickle Me Entertainment, books the majority of the comedians and brings up the third slot in this pyramid of power. "Burlesque Assassins" Puts the Sass in Assassins, Now on DVD and Streaming

There is big news in the world of International Burlesque. In 2012 the comedic thriller Burlesque Assassins was released to theaters by Writer and Director Jonathan Joffe. I had the pleasure to interview him and that extensive interview is in "Best of Frankie Tease Magazine Vol 1". The ebook is available on iTunes, Amazon, and Nook. Great news came again this month. Turns out I won't have to wait until this film is screened in Las Vegas, because it's now available to rent streaming through Distrify. No matter if you don't recognize the name, all you have to do is get your credit card ready with six bux ($6.99 for special feature edition, and full dance acts added) and click play. I did it, and here is my review. I want to start off by saying the amount of effort put into this period piece is pretty spectacular. With funding by Telefilm of Canada, Joffe set off to direct his first full feature after years of success as a short film director, and screenpla

Catherine d'Lish by bluehairmedia.com The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend  held its 56th annual all-star Burlesque Showcase and Tournament of Tease Weekender Event, May 30 - June 2, 2013 at The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, which was established as a fundraiser for the Burlesque Hall of Fame's at what is now a tiny little museum storefront in Downtown Las Vegas. The event has been held at many locations in the past since 2006 when it moved from Los Angeles to Vegas. Venues for the event have included the Palms, The Celebrity Theater, and The Plaza Hotel. The Hall's Weekender has experienced a lot of drama among organizers including during 2011, rivalry among board members [ Wall St. Journal ]. But there was no sign of any of strife at this year's event held during the first week of June as is its tradition featuring a competition, awards, and showcases. Part Two: For Ms. Redd the Viva Las Vegas 16 Burlesque Competition is Personal

Ms. Redd Pinup Model by Holly West Back in March, I wrote part one of this story about Ms. Redd entering the Viva Las Vegas 16 Burlesque Competition. It's her second time, and the first time she was one of the runners up. Read Part One of the story HERE . I wanted to get behind what the preparation was for entering the competition, bring it to light, and also to see what her experience was going on the big beautiful Orleans Hotel Showroom stage. Ms. Redd has had an impressive career as a published print pinup model, and this is the continuation of her first few years as a burlesque performer. With a body like that, it's gotta be hard to go wrong. And she looks good in any light, I've seen her in stage and daylight. She's a stunner. We met for coffee to follow up during April, and finally guys, here is the story as it came to be during Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender 16. FT: So thanks for meeting me to do the follow up for our interest story about

Strip Tease Expert Jo Weldon Visits Vegas Burlesque Studio

Photo Credit: Scott Shuster As I entered the LVBC studio, I saw about 15 female students filling up the seats as New York City's Jo Weldon lectured. The topic they came to learn was two-fold. One: How to Be Prepared for Press, Producers, and Festival Applications was available during the first segment and Two: Striptease Expertise for the latter half which is billed as Weldon's signature class. An amazingly low rate of $30 was asked for the two classes combined, or $20 taken separately. The award-winning founder of the New York School of Burlesque, Weldon has written the first known 'how to' book on Burlesque entitled The Burlesque Handbook [HarperCollins/ItBooks 2010]. Widely recognized as a leading expert in today's modern world of Strip Tease and Burlesque, this is Weldon's first time teaching at any Vegas studio. The students were varied: young, old, tall, thin, heavy, casual, to fixed-up pin-ups, just proving Burlesque and Weldon's w

Burlesque History Comes in Sweets' Release

A Debut Album Event Review of Melody Sweets  "Burlesque in the Black" The highly anticipated debut album show was built up with adverts in Las Vegas over several weeks and each major paper in town had done their preview. The star had just released her debut album of originals after well over a year of success as the headliner in what has been voted "Best Show" many times over. The show is a turn-of-the century tribute with live singing and strip tease by Sweets, and world-class acrobatics at-close-range, combined with wild and inappropriate humor by Host the Gazillionaire and Side-kick Sock Puppet Queen Penny Pibbets. Flesh and skill are what holds the show together as well as more up-close views of  aerials than any Cirque show ever offered. The unabashed sexiness that Sweets exudes for Absinthe is obviously the natural resting place for the artist in her own original music. The release party and show began with a video intro where co-star

Making Sense of Las Vegas Burlesque and Topless Shows (with a list)

Miss Banbury Cross of England at BHOF 2012 by Cory Royer What's Happening with Burlesque in Las Vegas? The term "Las Vegas Burlesque" is one I recently heard used by a Producer to describe the brand that has become the norm for the art form on the Vegas Strip. This particular brand is more like the Victoria's Secret models than anything you may have seen in the 40's. There aren't always tributes to vintage characters, they might not even be stripping. Also, you may not always have the advantage of clarity about the shows from teaser ads. I'll try to help. While we can all be glad that it isn't amateur night on the strip and that you are guaranteed a high profile star with a hard body, some say it doesn't make sense to use the word Burlesque in a lot of cases to describe shows here on the Strip. It's a bit confusing, let's be frank.  A Genre Struggling with Who it Is Ever since the film "Burlesque" came out which brought C
