Absinthe Co-Host Penny Pibbets Shows Why She's Been Named the Funniest Woman in Vegas

Absinthe Co-Host Penny Pibbets Shows Why She's Been Named   the Funniest Woman in Vegas An Interview from 2012's  Best of Frankie Tease Magazine Vol.2 There once was a show called Absinthe, it took New York stages by storm and it moved to Las Vegas, its premise outrageous, a side-show side-kick star was born. This co-host wowed and horrified audiences with an unorthodox comedic puppet show, and relentlessly inappropriate foul mouth. Nothing was off limits for the Queen of Sock Puppetry Penny Pibbets, especially after year one. In 2012 Penny Pibbets was named the "Funniest Woman in Vegas" in the show's second year being named the "Best Show" in Vegas several times over. The show was signed at least through Oct. 2013 to remain at the Roman Plaza at Caesers Palace, with a possibility for a contract through 2014. Pibbets continues to present her own brand of zany antics in her secondary spotlight as the Gazillionaire's assistant in t

Frankie Tease Magazine is Going National

For Immediate Release Sept. 15, 2013. Over the last five years, I have spent many off-hours covering in person and then writing about the entertainment field and stage, related to burlesque, comedy, and music and the culture surrounding them. I studied English Composition in Pasadena at PCC circa 1994-1997, did tons of event production, then began seriously as a columnist in Portland, Oregon circa 2009,  all the while writing my own show copy, press releases, and helping others with the same. I have spent two years now (as of September) doing this job in Las Vegas and am in my fourth year producing (usually) a weekly article with photos and an interview of my subject or an editorial piece and have been published by Examiner.com, (online) Vegas Seven (print),  "The Best of Frankie Tease Magazine" ebooks Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 (Bookbaby / iTunes, Amazon, Nook), The Guardian Express LV (print), and other smaller unmentionable publications. I am finding that it is still important

Beloved Burlesque Legend and Legacy Dixie Evans Deceased at 86

Story by Frankie Tease Dixie-signed photograph courtesy of Melody Sweets, Las Vegas. Intro: A Burlesque Legend Passes Dixie Evans has passed away August 3, 2013 in Las Vegas, NV, born Long Beach, CA, August 28, 1926. The Marilyn Monroe of Burlesque , long-time American strip-tease artist, showgirl, performer, organizer, legend and icon did many things that inspired many people. In fact, a group had planned Dixie Evans Week to be held later this month as a fundraiser for her medical needs. Shows would - and still will - take place all over the nation, and world, to fundraise for Dixie Evans. Before that effort could meet her medical needs post-stroke in a Las Vegas facility, she passed-away. There is more to that story here, and information about the fundraiser and how you can participate to help give toward her final arrangements. Dixie lived an active life most recently in the press in the 90's, carrying on the collection of artifacts of strippers throu

The LVFF Screened "Raze" the Movie with Zoe Bell, July 20, 2013 - Tidbits and Teasers

Actor Zoe Bell pictured on Raze film poster. The Sixth Annual Las Vegas Film Festival was held at the LVH (Las Vegas Hotel) last weekend from July 18-21, 2013. The LVFF included film screenings, an award ceremony, panel discussions, mixers, and after parties, among many other events. The star-studded red carpet was busy all weekend. One such celebrity that our magazine has interviewed at length is Tonya Kay. Kay was in town from L.A. on Saturday for the 6pm showing of Raze by Director Josh C. Waller. The female heavy film includes A-List stunt woman who are trapped in a bunker after being kidnapped. Tonya Kay (Alex) is featured fighting in a hand-to-hand combat scene to the death with stellar stunt woman Zoe Bell (Sabrina). Bell is a favorite of Quentin Tarantino, a New Zealander, and a revered female stunt woman. I'm sad to not have seen the screening, but look forward to other chances. The premise of the story isn't too new, but the fact that's it's all women f

Old and New Vegas Vibe, Unscripted, Uncensored - Sapphire Comedy Hour Has it All

Video of Mon Dre performing at  Sapphire Comedy Hour by Frankie Tease. I finally found a show as raunchy and classy as I like it, and it's at the world's largest strip club, Sapphire Las Vegas. The club is well-known in town, for topless entertainment and great bottle and V.I.P. service. It also just opened a topless (pastied) pool and dayclub which is very fun. But even more new, they have been rolling out a show in the state-of-the art (wicked comfortable) Sapphire Showroom a few feet from the main entrance. I attended the Media Night for Sapphire Comedy Hour , hosted by the Producer/Director of the show Brett Feinstein (son of the owner). Feinstein's associates are Decade-Long Las Vegan, Douglas “Lefty” Leferovich    who is creative director, magic consultant, and featured entertainer, while Philip Peredo, head of Tickle Me Entertainment, books the majority of the comedians and brings up the third slot in this pyramid of power. Peredo, Feinstein, Leferovic
